New Jersey Dispensary Information
Is weed legal in NJ? Do I need a medical card?
Good news – weed is legal in New Jersey for both medical and recreational use for adults aged 21 and older. You don’t need a medical card to purchase recreational cannabis, you just need proof of ID that shows you’re 21 or older. However, a medical card is required if you are part of the state’s medical cannabis program, which allows for certain allowances and tax exemptions not available to recreational users. There are some dispensaries that only serve medical patients and can’t sell to recreational customers so be sure to check their website to confirm before you go.
